Beginning at 10:30 AM Mountain Time, users were reporting issues adding and viewing annotations for assignment submissions that normally appear in the Crocodoc file previewer in Canvas. They were instead seeing messages stating "Annotations are not available for this document". This was a side effect to a recent fix that had been done to allow users to download annotated submissions. Our engineers have addressed the issue and those files are displaying properly once again. Users should now be able to view and add annotations to assignment submissions in their courses.
